Aims & Needs for our Digital & Social media courses

We are providing training in ‘digital, social media’ relating to the most exciting world of ‘fashion & sports’. This would be achieved in terms of offering ‘highly engaging courses in sports & fashion digital (social) media marketing and future opportunities’ in this ever-evolving digital world. One of the aims is to inspire young people to develop/learn skills that would give them a strong career insight into the world of digital media.

The importance & need for these courses; ‘By 2020, 80% of content consumed online will be video. By 2021 it increases to 85%; 1.9 billion people are on YouTube, watching 1 billion videos daily. That’s 32 min/day average; 81% of Facebook users are also on YouTube’

Schools are not currently teaching these types or related courses in tune with the rise of the 'digital media usage' in society. Not only can these young trainees have a strong career path in this world of digital media, fashion or sports. They can also utilise these skills to keep them occupied at home as after school home activities. Trainees can work as a hobby/
Mini-business which keeps them away from ‘negative distractions in the streets and into positive activities. This type of provision is essential especially with less youth provisions and youth centres closing down.

Courses & Work Shops

Digital & Social Media courses (Sports/Fashion)

We utilise sports/fashion digital media development to train young people in digital/social media skills as an ‘expressive art’ and or with ‘enterprise’ initiative training & incentives. These same skills can be utilised to gain employment as they are known as ‘employability’
qualifications. It must be noted that the ‘trainee’ after the courses are completed, can
utilise their digital media development skills/interest and develop into further education as a career path. Trainees could enter into various industries from music to catering and
hundreds of industries in between. Trainees do not need to stay in the world of sports and fashion. Learning from this world of high octane, fast-paced exciting eclectic mix of sports, urban & sports fashion/accessories will give the trainee the most exciting industries to learn digital & social media skills. After the course trainees will carry real time videos adverts/
photography portfolio for their future learning/careering paths.

Entry Requirements Criteria:

  • Trainees must speak/write intermediate English
  • Have an interest in digital/social media
  • Must-have social media experience & interested in enterprise
  • If trainees have any special needs then they must be accompanied by appropriate specialists

Internal Certificates/Accredited Programme & Courses
= ASDAN accredited/certified courses relating to digital & social media
Course aims: - To train young people who are ‘hard to reach & or highly creative’ i.e. those who do not engage with mainstream education but are creatively minded, will engage highly with such courses on offer. These students may be disruptive or falling behind in school and require alternative engaging creative provisions.

We are currently running 3 digital & social media (sports / fashion) related programmes:

Course Outcomes

All our courses have a focus on ‘digital media elements training’, which aids the young person to set up various no investment needed enterprise options.
1) Will have the opportunity to become an OG Clothing online ambassador
2) Will be able to use skills, knowledge, and experience gained to start-up their mini enterprise? as a real business or utilise the process
3) Will be able to use learning gained as a stepping stone into related further education

Trainees will gain skills in;

digital marketing in particular to create video adverts
/photography to help businesses market products and market them to the general
public/businesses via social media. We do this by teaching the trainees how to create the appropriate photography & videography content that would be used for mass marketing via social media. The trainees learn in particular how to create the content whether it be video adverts/giffs/photos of those products & connect them to an online web store. Also how the media marketing advert content is used to create a brand perception that leads to
marketing & sales online.

Trainees will understand how to;

how to make money from simple enterprise initiatives that they can set up with no investment and can either take it away as a simple learning
exercise & develop further in education and or create a part-time business.

Trainees will gain;

invaluable practical/theory/knowledge & invaluable work experience as they train as they will be working alongside highly experienced staff whom have collectively have over 30 years’ experience.

Video style; in particular developing giffs, moving photos to mini adverts

We have just set up a YouTube channel that is set to launch/fully marketed by February 2020 onwards but for schools / institutes we have a select amount of videos we have made and examples of the type of video adverts trainees will be making.

Photography

Photography for an online store, social media & marketing
Make various photos that would have multi use including online presentations such as =

Social media

Using the above type of content i.e. videos/photos to be uploaded to social media such as facebook, Instagram and how to promote the videos/photos.

  • How to approach Influencers by using content/ contra deals
  • How to use the content to gain ambassadors
  • How and when to use business social media platforms like ‘linked in

  • Video editing via filmora/adobe premiere or similar software to create mini adverts
  • Use of internet, various search engines such as Google, and online social media applications
  • Utilise Microsoft office i.e. for typing literature and creating presentations

  • Brief business plan (part of enterprise courses)
  • Miscellaneous write up i.e. banners, blogs, messages, offers etc
  • Use of good English language is essential and vital in social media marketing, therefore the students will write and type using micro soft office / ‘Grammarly’ software

Maths

  • Part of a brief business plan (part of enterprise courses)
  • Business set up calculations – marketing in particular like Facebook/Google adverts but can start without adverts

  • With short courses (enterprise), they will gain (with no obligation to run) a mini home enterprise business

Aims & Needs for the FASC course

Our 2020 focus/ethos currently is providing new unique training provisions for ‘hard to reach young people’ / extrovert communicative students. We are providing training in ‘sales & communication’ relating to the most exciting world of ‘fashion & sports’. This would be achieved in terms of offering ‘highly engaging courses in fashion apparel sales & communication’. One of the aims is to inspire young people to develop/learn skills that would give them a strong career insight into the world of communication & sales.

The need for great sales and marketing executives is phenomenon whether the trainees are working for themselves or for a company the demand for great sales people is very large and can make or break a company. With average full-time sales incomes ranging from £30,000 to £100,000 + (for those with the ‘gift of the gab’ this is a course to be considered). It must be noted highly the sales industry is not for the ‘soft hearted or emotional type’ of person, it really is best suited for extrovert, communicative, passionate committed individuals, who are not emotional over rejections or rudeness when cold calling or when speaking to busy clients.
Though the course is labelled as a FASC courses, positive communication (is the key to humanity) it is also a life skills course that has many benefits such as learning ‘key skills’ in business/employment, social awareness, self-awakening and confidence. Ultimately it is a sales course, it teaches more than just sales but communication. Positive inspiring communication/dialogue when improved, leads to the best outcomes in life as well as in employment/self-employment. Especially when selling one’s products and services to potential clients in order trainees can make a “sky’s the limit income”.
A dynamic therapeutic short course that creates confidence to become a determined sales agent of fashion apparel or branding/sales agent for non-related industries.

Courses & Work Shops

The FASC (Fashion Apparel Sales Communication) courses was created to develop salesmen / women in fashion, apparel and related industries. The core skills, to understand Fashion /Apparel products and services and secondly it is to become an independent sales and marketing agent for any industry but with a specialism, in fashion sports and accessories.

Entry Requirements Criteria:

  • Trainees must speak/write intermediate English
  • Have an interest in sales / enterprise
  • Must be willing to work alone and communicate to the external world with confidence

What are we going to deliver?

Level 1 Training for entrepreneurs becoming self-employed confident sales agents with knowledge of the fashion apparel and branding industries

Program objective: (what will the young people work towards achieving)

  • To develop a group of up 4 trainees per class to develop their own sales and (marketing) business that is either 100% FREE to set up, if they work with OG Group or go into marketing / sales courses at a higher level at college / institutes
  • To develop trainees to be able to use their skills / accreditation to become a professional sales employee or alongside their own business

Core competences

This course focuses on 12 main core competences but it also, creates via positive communication an understanding what you are selling/marketing. This creates confidence and the ability to understand communication skill is one aspect selling is another aspect i.e. positive communication and knowledge of (a product or service one is selling) fashion, sports apparel creates great confidence.

Skill sets learned, whilst in the programme are as follows:

ICT

  • Understanding of man elements of graphic design skills for marketing & sales within an enterprise for fashion apparel and branding
  • Utilise Microsoft office for typing literature, creating excel sheets and presentations

Printing / Production knowledge in order to sell / communicate with knowledge

  • You will understand the main elements of print techniques
  • Elements off shore manufacturing via graphics apparel and print knowledge including size grading etc

English

  • Business plan

  • Use of good English language is essential and vital in marketing
  • Verbal English for Strong Sales & Marketing skills

⦁ After school / weekend activities

OGTA has developed various afterschool (evening), weekend or holiday activities that will ensure young people are engaged while learning and developing themselves at the same time. With youth centres and play parks being constantly closed down or converted to housing. With young people being glued to modern technology and games, there is a huge need for activities that not only engage as an extreme form of fun but educate, train and develop at the same time.
